Biodiversity Net Gain
Biodiversity Net Gain is now an important consideration for many developments, requiring projects to demonstrate an improvement in biodiversity value.
We help clients understand their BNG requirements from the earliest stages, working alongside ecology and landscape specialists to develop practical solutions that support both the development and its biodiversity objectives.
BNG is far easier to manage when it is considered from day one, rather than becoming an expensive problem later in the project.
Nitrate & Phosphate Neutrality
Nutrient neutrality can have a significant impact on development in affected catchments, including residential schemes, tourism accommodation and some agricultural and equine developments.
We can help assess the implications for your project, coordinate specialist modelling and advise on suitable mitigation, including on-site solutions and off-site credits where available.

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

We coordinate and prepare Environmental Statements, bringing together the specialist information required to assess impacts on habitats, communities and the wider environment.
Our team has experience delivering EIAs across a diverse range of developments and planning authority areas, helping clients produce robust submissions that support the planning process.
Agricultural Permitted Development
We work closely with the P&K Group and others to provide specialist advice on permitted development rights for agricultural buildings. Whether these are new sheds to house livestock or tractors and other farm equipment, our team can advise on the requirements of the regulations and undertake a site review to confirm that permitted development rights apply.
Where sites benefit from permitted development, our team manage the Prior Notification process from start to finish to secure confirmation from the Local Authority that development can be undertaken without further approval.
Our team also provide support for the Prior Approvals process where this is required and requested by the Local Authority, providing specialist adise to ensure all of the regulations are adhered to such that development can commence without delay.
Marine
Licensing
Specialists in our team have signifcant experience of the Marine Planning regime, which sits alongside Town and Country Planning and often comes in to play for developments at or near the coast and inland for some rivers.
Our team can prepare, submit and manage the Marine Licencing process on behalf of clients, undertaking the necessary appraisals of Marine Planning Policy and co-ordinating other consultant teams to provide input on various environmental matters such as underwater noise, impacts on aquatic species and habitats.
We speak directly to the Marine Management Organisation and statutory consultees to smooth the process over, engaging jointly with Local Planning Authorities and their consultees on sites where the relevant regimes overlap.
